Safety routines
Sign-in and pickup
A staff member signs each child in at the door. At pickup a child goes only with an adult on your list, and we ask for ID from anyone we haven't met.
Allergies and medicine
Tell us about allergies when you tour, and we ask privately once you enroll. Medicine is given only with your written permission, by a trained staff member.
When a child is ill
A child with a fever or a contagious illness stays home. If a child becomes ill here, we call the first person on your list and a staff member stays close until you arrive.
Headcounts and drills
We count heads each time the group moves between the cafeteria, the library and the gym, and we practice fire and shelter drills with the children.
Outdoor time and weather
On dry days part of the activity hour goes outside on the school yard. When it is wet, very cold or very hot, the activity moves into the gym.
A host building
We rent the school building, so we follow its rules for doors, visitors and fire drills as well as our own.
