Families

What parents tell us

“I tell Lasha which days I need and a place is held on those days. When the school has a day off, the closed-days list already told me.”

Devora M.Parent of a second grader

“At pickup the person at the door knows who is on our list, and I sign my kids out on the clipboard. It takes a minute and I always know it was done.”

Jarell W.Parent of a kindergartner and a fourth grader

“Homework hour is quiet, and there is a staff member at the table when my son has a question. Then he heads to the gym with everyone else.”

Rod H.Parent of a fifth grader

Questions

Before you register

Who can come, and in which grades?

Children in kindergarten through grade 6, ages 5 to 12. Children are grouped by grade for homework hour and mix across grades for the activity hour.

How do I choose between two, three and five afternoons?

Choose the days you need covered. Two afternoons are Tuesday and Thursday, three are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and five are every school day. If your schedule changes, tell us and we move your days when there is room.

What happens on days the school is closed?

We are closed whenever the building is closed. The closed days for the year go out to families in writing, so you can plan other care ahead.

What do you do about allergies and medicine?

Tell us about allergies when you tour, and we ask for details privately once you enroll. Medicine is given only with your written permission, by a staff member trained to give it.

Can my child's friend join the same group?

Yes, when there is room on the days both families need. Each family registers separately, and we try to place friends together when both families ask.

Ready to hold a place?

Fall registration opens in June. Call or text and we will show you the cafeteria, the library and the gym first.
